Don't miss the 2011 PICONET get together.

The Date is September 17, 2011 at The Cactus on Fort Thunder Road, in Perham, MN.

We will be returning this year to The Cactus in Perham MN, for the annual PICONET get together. Last year was our second year in Perham and we enjoyed another large turnout. The facilities and food were great and though the weather was cool, everyone had a great time. Bud, N0KCM, has again taken on the task making the arrangements for the event.

We'll start gathering around 10:30 in the parking lot. If you like, bring along your items to swap, sell or trade. The luncheon will start around noon.

Directions: From US-Hwy 10, exit at Perham on MN-Hwy 78 South. Proceed South to Fort Thunder Rd (425th St.) and turn West (first turn on the right). Drive about 600 yards and you will find The Cactus on the right side of the road.

Lodging options: a corporate discount is available at the Crossings Inn & Suites. The Crossings Inn (218-346-2033) has the pool, sauna and lounge, they also offer a continental breakfast.

The Super 8 Motel, at 106 Jake St SE. Perham, MN, phone 218-346-7888 is also offering a nearly 20% discount. Reservations are necessary for the discount, and you must mention "PICO NET Gathering" or "Ham Radio Group", to the hotel agent.

As a local attraction, you may want to visit the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham. The Address is 805 West Main St., Perham. The museum features the memories and experiences of war time in the words of the veterans. Definitely worth a visit.
